Ioannis (John) Faraclas is a shipping expert, lecturer, and journalist with deep roots in the maritime world. Born into traditional Chian seafaring families with 700 years of shipping heritage, he studied shipping, ship management, maritime law, and economics in Piraeus and London. He has taught at the Piraeus College of Shipping Studies and served as a guest lecturer at UCL, Queen Mary, and Hult University. His career spans seafaring, shipbroking, leadership, geopolitics, maritime claims, and shipbuilding, and he continues to deliver lectures and speeches across the globe.

Faraclas has sailed on ocean-going ships, traveled to over 100 countries across all five continents, and served as a top aide at the Greek Ministry of Shipping. He has been active in journalism since 1997 and has co-founded and led his own platform, All About Shipping (https://allaboutshipping.co.uk/) for the last 15 years.

He appears regularly on live television and radio, including CNBC, ERT, and Vergina TV and was named WISTA UK Man of the Year in 2019 for his contribution to shipping.
