Well-behaved innovation

What we do

Further & Further is a consultancy that helps maritime stakeholders and technology providers find common ground by working within people’s existing frameworks.

Shipping runs on relationships, reputation, and instinct. Digital tools and AI lack the tension and tangibility we’re used to generating our power from. When new systems enter an environment like that, they must earn their place in the workflow and in the minds of the people who rely on them.

AI is a strategic new hire — not a tool.

It needs orientation, context, and trust before it can contribute.

It needs a framework to operate within that reflects each company’s individual risk appetite based on size, resources and goals. Do you have four ships, forty, or four hundred? Survival must be built in and scaled to reality.

Adoption becomes possible when we invest in human capability alongside the push for technology to scale. This is how we move from pilot purgatory to stable outcomes.

Our work lives in the conversations where adoption lives or dies. We remove improvisational chaos, align expectations, and create the clarity required for technology to be understood, used, and valued.

Further & Further is brand agnostic and welcomes difficult questions and perspectives, just like you.

Our Services

Right-sized Tech

You’ll never hear us use the words revolutionary, game-changing, or disruptive. We assess which technologies actually make sense for your operation and resources—and whether they’ll pay for themselves. We’re brand agnostic and start with a focus on incremental improvements that could work with what you’ve already got.

AI Content Fixing

We improve low-quality AI-generated content – from lifeless and generic to red-flag inaccuracy – that’s costing companies credibility and eroding your marketing investment.

Make the world a better place and never say game changing again!

Communications & Media

Many maritime websites look like they’re from before the war. Presentations give you a panic attack they’re so full of odd facts, text, and quarreling fonts. Communications feel like an afterthought because they usually are.

We help maritime companies who understand the importance of bringing value to the conversation. Whether it’s improving how your story gets told, the positions you take on industry issues, website content that’s well-written, straightforward, and effective, or starting a company blog or podcast—we provide the substance, edge, and voice to grow engagement and attract new clients.

Chatham House Style Events

Chatham House Rules. Reimagining formats and conversation to change the spectrum of desired outcomes.

Venture Studio: Entrepreneur x Entrepreneur

Venture Studio: Entrepreneur x Entrepreneur

We partner with shipowners and senior maritime leaders to transform ideas into marketable tech by validating the fit in the wider market, shaping governance and scalability, building the go-to-market, and socializing adoption within teams so ventures don’t fall over.

AI Framework

AI Framework

AI needs a framework to operate within to integrate it into our teams. One that reflects your resources, appetite for risk, and goals.

Do you have four ships, forty, or four hundred? Survival has to be built in and sized to reality. We help you do this.

Reality-Based Sustainability Events

Partnering with Dr. Liapis from the Hellenic Institute of Marine Technology to create brand-agnostic roundtables with shipowners, technical managers, and decision makers where tech providers are naturally folded into conversations around industry friction points. We’ll use results-based examples without tech terminology to better understand where resistance lies and develop win-win solutions

Emma Collier

After a decade building people-focused brands and bridges between industries, Emma has spent the last five years in maritime, working at the intersection of technology, adoption, and human decision-making. She has wrestled elegant solutions out of unruly problems in Global Partnerships for EVIDENT (which tokenized the first maritime asset, a $100m LNG carrier) and as Chief Relationship Officer for Satva Trust, with a focus on data quality and independent fuel-consumption intelligence through proprietary ML. As the Founder of Further & Further, she aims to provides something akin to translation – BlackRock calls them centaurs – half human, half developer – so that both tech utopians and legacy shipping companies can begin to cooperate in the same language.

She is also host of the Further & Further podcast, aiming to land somewhere between Lex Fridman and Joe Rogan for the maritime industry.

Dimitris Orfanos

Dimitris brings two decades of experience from technical departments of ship managers and owners, understanding the day-to-day realities of maritime operations.

As COO of ORMA Shipping, he knows what it costs when technology doesn’t work and what it takes to implement solutions that do, making him well-positioned to evaluate technology from an operator’s perspective for Further & Further.

His leading Satva Trust to selection for the Lloyd’s insurance market’s accelerator programme, Lloyd’s Lab, from among 200+ global applicants underscores his balanced approach to industry advancement.

Currently the CEO at Satva Trust. Together at Further & Further, we apply our combined expertise beyond Satva Trust’s specific focus, helping clients navigate maritime evolution without the usual consulting theater.
